Post traumatic stress disorder is a set of reactions that can develop in people who have been on a traumatic or life threatening event.

After trauma people can often experience flashbacks, re-living the trauma, over and over, bad dreams or frightening thoughts.

They will often stay away from places or events that are reminders of the traumatic experience, feel emotionally numb, feel strong guilt, depression or worry, loose interest in activities that were once enjoyable to them or have trouble remembering the traumatic event.
They can be easily startled, feel tense or on edge, have difficulty sleeping and or experience angry outbursts.
