Physical abuse: hitting, kicking, slapping or any physical way of hurting someone, or threatening to hurt someone.

Emotional/ Psychological: demeaning or belittling another person by insulting them or repeatedly criticizing or making jokes at their expense

Financial: limiting someone’s access to money or controlling how he or she spends

Sexual: May involve using someone only for sexual gratification

Social: Trying to control whom someone spends time with and when he or she can spend time with him or her.
